When planing a turbo upgrade for the Golf 7 / 7.5 Gti, apart from the obvious which is to use an IHI IS38 from a Golf 7R/7.5R, there is a new very good choice. Garrett’s GT2260S – aka Powermax STG1.
With a bigger size and more top end performance than an is38, but not big enough to risk the engine’s health. It is a very good fit overall.
Combined with an upgraded high pressure fuel pump, hi flow downpipe, cold air intake kit, upgraded intercooler and our custom Stage3 ECU and gearbox remap the car can produce very good power.
