Seat Leon 1.8 TSI Gen3 MQB
The Seat Leon 1.8 TSI Gen3 MQB is a very good platform for upgrades, even when it is equipped with a DSG7 DQ200 gearbox. Following the general rule, Gen3 EA888 engines are very tunable. They gain good power with very few upgrades. Thus, the stock turbo becomes much more efficient with the addition of an upgraded exhaust. This results in greater power gains without requiring high octane fuel.
Upgrade specifications
- 95 RON fuel
- Upgraded exhaust
- Stage 2 ECU remap
Remap settings and gearbox compatibility
However, the existence of a DSG7 gearbox requires very gentle boost settings to avoid problems with the gearbox, and this is what this remap does very well. Starting from 1 bar at mid rpm, boost gradually goes up to 1.4bars at high rpm, causing little strain to the gearbox.
The power delivery is very smooth and the gearbox loves it!
Performance results
- Maximum horsepower: 250 wHp (165 wHp measured stock)
- Maximum torque: 37 Kgm (25 Kgm measured stock)
As can be seen in the dynoplot below, the power gains are really amazing on this platform. Having a daily driven Seat Leon 1.8 TSI Gen3 MQB with 240+ wHp is a must.
