A couple of weeks ago we had the oportunity here in Greece to tune an Audi A6 Allroad with the 3.0tfsi V6 Supercharged engine.
This A6 is like the little brother of the RS6. And as the RS6 gains 150-200hp easilly the A6 gains also 90-100hp very safely. Just with an intake, full catless exhaust and our stage 2 ECU remap.
After the remap, if any more power is needed then an extra 50hp over Stage2 can be gained by changing the supercharger pulley!
Reflashing it though was not easy at all. We had to make make a full read from the OBD port. Get the ecu on the bench to unlock it, then put it back on the car. Then read it again and then tune the file and write it through the OBD port. The trick was to read it locked, then read it unlocked again to have access to write the tuned file.
The ECU location is easy to find. It is at the left in the photo below, next to the flashlight.
Performance-wise the engine’s power has huge gains – also does torque. The torque though as absolute numbers is 30Nm more at the midrange but after the 5000rpm until the redline we have 100Nm difference and this is due to the supercharger holding more boost.
Performance results
- Maximum horsepower: 401hp (measured stock 313hp), gains 88hp
- Maximum torque: 480Nm (measured stock 450Nm), gains 30Nm
