How about a turbo kit that can bring a power increase to the levels of its big sister, the Skoda Octavia A7 VRS? The 1.8TSI comes with 180bhp stock, utilizing an IHI IS12 turbocharger. At best, it can produce around 260-280bhp but no more. The higher end of that power range being extremely dangerous for the turbocharger’s health.
The big sister, VRS, uses an IHI IS20 turbocharger that on the outside looks much like the IS12. And these two are interchangeable, they bolt on directly to the engine with minimal modifications. Because of the fantastic compatibility between the turbos, this upgrade is available for all 3 breeds of Octavia that are out there:
- With manual gearbox
- DSG7 gearbox
- DSG6 gearbox, for the All wheel drive versions
Power and torque delivery is directly manipulated from the custom remap, to avoid gearbox strain at low rpm, allowing for great power levels mid and high rpm.
