The updated version of the Audi A3 8V Quattro is a small S3 in the making:
With a Gen3/MQB 2.0TFSI engine, an upgraded DQ381 gearbox together with quattro, and 8V.2 chassis: the only thing lacking is performance.
Because it conforms to the very restrictive Euro 6.2 emission standards, it is equipped with all sorts of cat converters and particle traps that the manufacturer could fit. This means you can hear the sounds from your internal organs more easily than the exhaust itself and the friction of your bum to the seat causes more noise than the turbocharger via the air intake.
Still, this car with a stage 1 tune is very tempting. With just software modifications it gains a lot of power. It comes with 190hp (140kW)/320Nm engine power as standard. It was measured in dyno mode at 190hp/350Nm in our Dynomax rolling road dyno.
A custom #Etuners stage1 ECU tune was developed for the Bosch MG1 ECU system that controls the engine, increasing the power output to 246hp and torque to 451Nm.
Upgrade specifications
- 98RON fuel
- #Etuners Stage1 ECU remap (98RON), for Bosch MG1
Performance results
- Maximum engine power: 246hp (measured stock 190hp), gains 56hp
- Maximum engine torque: 451Nm (measured stock 350Nm), gains 100Nm
