This tiny 1.4 HDI70 engine is a downscaled version of the very successful 1.6 HDI and is usually found on the Citroen C3 and Peugeot 208. Other models use it too, but on the heavier platforms like the C4 and 308 it is no fun at all, due to the increased weight of the car. As strange as it seems, downscaling has left the poor car without an intercooler. If you have a close look at the engine bay, the turbocharger outlet pipe goes directly into the intake manifold. This creates a lot of heat even on the stock engine calibration and is definitely an option to be explored, specially since it is very easy to find and install intercoolers for this engine from its bigger sisters.

Even so, it managed to produce a crazy amount of power with a remap, specially at high rpm! Just look at how much power it gains after 3500rpm, it is like a whole different car. It is now producing 100% more power at high rpm compared to stock.
