A Peugeot 208 GTI 1.6 THP208, made in 2017 – custom tuned for Stage2 on 95RON fuel.
Peugeot and Citroens latest THP208 engine, code EP6-FDTX complies with Euro6 emission regulations. It produces a little bit more power as stock over EP6-CDTX, which is THP200 and complies with Euro5 emission regulations. It features Valvetronic cylinder head technology, variable cam timing on the intake cam and exhaust cam, a twin scroll turbocharger and many improvements over older Prince engine designs. Controlling engine electronics is a Bosch MEVD17.4.4 unit.
One thing that is common between the Peugeot 207, Peugeot 208 and Citroen DS3 is the intercooler unit: It is exactly the same. The intercooler’s small volume makes it soak with heat very quickly. When remapping the 208 GTI, the tuner needs to take that into account and not exaggerate the boost settings. During our dyno testing, intake air temperature reached 50C with the stock map and 70C with the tune, which is much higher than what we would like for good performance.
