The Renault Clio IV (MY2012-MY2016) is a very versatile platform, with engines ranging from 75bhp to more than 200bhp. Unfortunately, the 1.5dci with 75hp version is on the lower part of that range and this does not help with its driveability at all. This engine is not fast, by any means. It is very fuel efficient but not nice to drive at all.
The good news is that with an #Etuners Stage1 ECU remap, power can exceed 110bhp even on high mileage cars, like this one. With more than 160000km on the clock, power was increased to 113bhp from 74bhp, with massive torque gains. The engine itself is very durable and can be found in many different Nissan/Renault/Dacia/Mercedes models, exceeding 110hp stock – although in some of them with a slightly larger turbo. Engine block is exactly the same between them.
